My Beloved Ndi Ikwuano,

On this special day marking another year of God’s grace upon my life, I pause to celebrate not just my birthday, but also the unbreakable spirit of our beloved community. As Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu, my heart overflows with gratitude for the journey we’ve shared and the brighter path ahead. 


Today, I recommit myself to the Ikwuano rescue mission - a sacred duty that invites  us all to rise, unite, and reclaim our destiny. It is not an option; It is what must be done for our children, our heritage, and our shared future.


This year’s celebration places security at the forefront, a priority we cannot afford to overlook. Though I am far from home, my heart beats steadily with you, anchored in Ikwuano’s soil. In my stead, my dedicated team will visit key areas to strengthen our community security teams in  Umuariaga; Umudike; Nnono, and  Ariam-Usaka security teams. We will provide walkie-talkie devices and  motorcycles to enhance rapid response and vigilance, ensuring our communities stand safer and stronger.


Rest assured, moving forward, security will remain paramount on my agenda. We will not rest until every corner of Ikwuano feels protected and empowered. True to the “For Us By Us” promise, we are building a community-driven engine of progress. Soon, a dedicated “For Us By Us” office will open its doors, a listening hub to feel the pulse of our people, hear your voices, and connect deeply with what you truly need and desire.


In line with this ideology, ward coordinators will be appointed across our wards - passionate citizens living in your midst, driving development from the grassroots up. This is our way: community-led, people-powered, and relentlessly focused on lifting Ikwuano, not just as a place, but as a beacon for all of Ikwuano/Umuahia 


I am passionate about this land that shaped me, and I remain wholly committed to uplifting it. Together, under the “For Us By Us” banner, we will transform challenges into triumphs, fostering unity, opportunity, and pride for generations.


Even in my absence, join me in spirit at my country home, the White House, Ikwuano, for prayers and light refreshments. Let us gather, reflect, and renew our resolve - because my heart is always home, with you.
