* Launch for ₦500m Hall of Fame Project 


Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti has been confirmed as  the Special Guest of Honour as the Ikwuano Development Union-Federated, IDU-F marks its Platinum Jubilee Anniversary on Tuesday, Dec 23, 2025 at Isiala, headquarters of Ikwuano LGA 

The event which has former Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Chief Henry Ikoh as Chairman will also witness the launch of the  fundraising for ₦500m earmarked for the Hall of Fame physical structure 

"Ikwuano Development Union-Federated, IDU-F, the foremost development union in Ikwuano LGA is 70 this year and the Union has every reason to look back and celebrate this Platinum Jubilee Anniversary in grand style and with Thanksgiving to God  for having made it thus far", Dr Monday Ubani, SAN, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee remarked

"Marking 70 years anniversary is a significant milestone and the IDU-F will use this occasion to unveil the first ever Ikwuano Hall of Fame and induct its  distinguished sons and daughters who have brought glory and honour to their community and nation", Dr Ubani added

The celebration which holds at the Council Hall, Isiala, headquarters of the LG will also witness the foundation laying ceremony for the physical structure of the Ikwuano Hall of Fame,  a legacy project of the IDU-F comprising the physical Hall of Fame,  events centre, library and other amenities and  will serve as IDU-F's headquarters  and a rallying Centre of Unity.  

"The Ikwuano Hall of Fame will honour and recognize Ikwuano sons and daughters who have made significant contributions, achieved outstanding, success, or demonstrated excellence, in their respective fields or industry. Others who would be considered for induction into the Hall of Fame are persons  adjudged to have done measurable things that uplifted the Ikwuano community", says Dr Charles Uzondu, the President-General of IDU-F.

He added that the Hall of Fame  provides a formal platform to acknowledge and appreciate hard work, dedication, and achievements of Ikwuano individuals or teams thereby boosting their morale

In a press statement confirming details for the event, the Chairman, Media/Publicity sub-committee, Chief Davidson Alaribe, FCA stated that HRH Eze Monday Okoro, Chairman of Ikwuano Council of Traditional Rulers will serve as Royal Father of the day

He further stated that "The Ikwuano Hall of Fame will be a one-stop-centre  that defines Nde Ikwuano. IDU-F will have a visible office address and can effectively do business with the high and mighty, being a strong registered and respectable organization.

"When established, the Ikwuano Hall of Fame will attract tourists, generate revenue, contribute to local economic development, enhance economic independence for IDUF and severe youth dependence on politicians and violence, as it will offer educational programs, exhibitions and research opportunities"
