Sources close to eminent constitutional lawyer and human rights advocate, Dr Monday Ubani confirmed that finishing touches are ongoing for the  funeral ceremony of Matriarch of the Ubani family,  Mrs Nsomma Gladys Ubani who will be laid to rest on Saturday Dec 27, 2025 in her country home, Umuosoko, Awomukwu in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State.

The nonagenarian matriarch passed peacefully in February 2025 aged  90.

Dr. Ubani, in an earlier statement described his late mother as a virtuous woman, devoted Christian, and community pillar whose love, wisdom, and faith left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

He extended an open invitation to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to join the Ubani family in celebrating the life and legacy of their beloved matriarch, noting that the event will be a thanksgiving for a life well spent.

The burial ceremony will be preceded by a service of songs on Friday, Dec 26, 2025, also in Awomukwu, Ikwuano LGA 

 This reporter gathered that notable political and business elites including senior legal practitioners from across the country had already indicated interest to converge on Awomukwu to be with t Dr Ubani as he lays  his late mother to rest on Saturday Dec 27, 2025
