Abia State-based businessman and politician, Chief Ako Obioma has accused Governor Alex Otti of betrayal, economic persecution, contract hijack, and deliberate refusal to pay court-validated debts.

In a stunning and emotionally charged public statement,  Obioma alleged that the Labour Party, LP government in Abia was built on private political agreements, secret negotiations, and sacrifices made by a few individuals who have now been discarded, blacklisted, and destroyed.

Obioma insisted that his ordeal began after he wrote an open letter insisting that the Abia Government House was never a rented property, the businessman and political power broker alleged that he overheard a telephone conversation where Gov. Otti, said that he will never forgive him for that revelation,  according to him that singular revelation stopped him from carrying out what he wanted to do, but the visit of Abia’s first Military Administrator, Air Vice Marshal Frank Ajobena (rtd) has now vindicated him.

He stated that his expose' on the true position of the present Government House triggered a wave of reprisals: His companies were blacklisted, Ongoing projects were terminated, The contract for the Umuopara Ring Road was revoked and allegedly re-awarded to a firm linked to his own brother, His family was torn apart but I am not bothered because “I spoke the truth and paid the highest price,” he said.

In what what have now become a full-blown political revelation, Obioma declared that no LP candidate in Abia including Gov Otti emerged without his consent or that of his brother, insisting that all tickets were products of pre-election agreements months before Peter Obi joined the party which he was central to and that was why elected members and chieftains of the party including Gov. Otti's aides held a thank you party in his residence after the election to thank him for delivering the Governor and the party by mobilizing PDP members to support and deliver the LP

He further alleged that the decisive election victories in Umuahia North and South, which delivered Otti the governorship, were secured by his political machinery only for the same administration to turn against those who delivered it.

He went on to reveal that his elder brother, Chief Acho Obioma, the Campaign Director-General to Governor Otti, negotiated binding political deals on Otti’s behalf, agreements that the Governor have now reneged and his attempts to formally remind the Governor of these agreements was met with a well drafted response from his own brother which he doubts if his brother authored because the letter was clinical and professionally drafted, deepening suspicions of betrayal and manipulation at the highest level.

Court Judgments Ignored, Debts Unpaid

In one of the gravest accusations, Obioma alleged that Gov Otti openly vowed never to pay court-affirmed debts owed to his companies, even if it meant dragging the matter to the Supreme Court.

Despite arbitration awards, judgments, and garnishee proceedings, payment has allegedly been deliberately stalled for political reasons and vendetta for exposing the true status of the Government House.

Obioma disclosed that he has now forgiven the Governor, his brothers, and all parties involved, not out of reconciliation, but in obedience to a direct mandate from the Archbishop of the Methodist Church, Nigeria, Most Rev. Dr. Raphael Opoko.

“I have forgiven them, but a worker must be paid his wages,” he said.

He warned that if any of his claims are denied, he is prepared to release documentary and video evidence to back his allegations.

It is important to note that with all the allegations of betrayal, contract hijack, family sabotage, ignored court orders, and moral collapse, this revelation threatens to shake the foundations of LP's credibility in Abia State and ignite a political pay back come 2027
