Ahead the 2027 General Elections, there is growing massive support for the candidacy of Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu for Ikwuano State Constituency seat in Abia State House of Assembly

The women leaders, who were on Easter festivities visit to the White House country home of Ugwumba Ishionwu in Amaoba-Oboro said their visit was to personally appreciate him for his consistent encouragement, empowerment and partnership shown towards all Ikwuano Women organizations in particular and the women of Ikwuano in general over the years.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Madam Ifeoma Ukoha commended Ishionwu for his dedication to grassroots development, noting that his contributions and leadership have remained visible across various communities.
"The women of Ikwuano have keenly observed Ugwumba Ishionwu's commitment to the welfare of the people and believe that his experience and passion for service make him well suited to represent Ikwuano State constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly", she submitted
Also speaking during the visit, Madam Nnena Nduka urged Ishionwu to listen to the growing calls from the people and formally declare his intention to run for the State Assembly seat.
She assured him that the women of Ugwunwanyi Ikwuano stand solidly behind him and would mobilize their support should he decide to answer the call.
“Our people have seen your impactful leadership over the years. Your commitment to community development speaks for itself, and we believe you have the capacity and character to represent Ikwuano effectively,” she said.
In his response, Ishionwu expressed deep gratitude for the visit and the kind words extended to him by the women leaders.
He particularly acknowledged the significant leadership role of Hon. Ngozi Oji, describing her as a strong and dedicated leader whose influence and commitment to the women of Ikwuano remains commendable.
Ishionwu assured the delegation that he would continue to support the activities and welfare of the women, emphasizing that his commitment to the progress of Ikwuano remains steadfast regardless of political considerations.
He explained that consultations with stakeholders across the constituency are ongoing regarding calls for him to contest.
“I sincerely appreciate this show of love and encouragement,” he said. “Wide consultations are ongoing, and I will continue to pray about it. At the appropriate time, should a decision be made, I will certainly let the people know.”
The visit concluded with prayers and goodwill from the women leaders, who reiterated their appreciation for Ishionwu’s leadership and their confidence in his ability to continue serving the people of Ikwuano.
