Easter's  joyous celebration of our Lord's triumphant victory over all odds  turned to a sober reflection of leadership styles in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State. The celebration at  Umuohia Amaoba Community which attracted the politically vibrant youths in the university community culminated in the youths passing a vote of confidence on one of the own, Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu, asserting that his labour of love for Ikwuano LG communities are  recommendations for him to vie for an elective position which would strategically position him to do more for the communities.

The gathering, which brought together community youth leaders and stakeholders provided an opportunity for open dialogue about the future of Ikwuano LG and the role of purposeful leadership in articulating a masterplan for its socio-economic  development and positioning in the unfolding infrastructural development of the State 

Dailyledger.com.ng reports that speakers one after the other  applauded Ishionwu for his leadership acumen, assuring  him assuring  him  of their unwavering support should he run for an elective office even as they  collectively urged him to declare to contest for the Ikwuano State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.

During the interaction, the youths openly expressed their admiration for Ishionwu, highlighting what they described as his  over eleven years of consistent service, philanthropy, and developmental efforts across Ikwuano LG. They pointed to several empowerment initiatives, educational support programs, community interventions, and grassroots engagements executed by Ishionwu even as a private citizen without any political appointment 

According to Chief Okechi Ebillah, Ishionwu's efforts have not only touched several lives but he has  also demonstrated a leadership philosophy rooted in compassion, love and the universal belief that true progress must come from within the people — a principle that aligns with the widely embraced “For Us, By Us, FUBU” ideology and movement facilitated by Ishionwu 

Responding to the overwhelming declaration of support, Ugwumba Ishionwu expressed deep gratitude to the youths for what he described as a humbling and unusual demonstration of trust, love and confidence.

He stressed  that his giving back to the communities over the years aligns with his personal philosophy and commitment to give back to the community that raised him.

Ishionwu further assured the gathering that he would never ignore a sincere call from his brothers and sisters, revealing that wide consultations are currently ongoing with leaders and stakeholders across Ikwuano for the rescue mission of the LG

He stated that once a decision is reached, it will be formally communicated to the people.

Observers present at the parley noted that Ishionwu exhibited his normal composure, confidence, and proactive readiness to serve at a higher level for the good of the people and community

The meeting ended with renewed optimism among the youths, many of whom reaffirmed their belief that the future of Ikwuano lies in leadership that grows from the people and works for the people.
