Addressing stakeholders and party faithful at his residence on Saturday after formally accepting the nomination, Orji expressed gratitude to God, his family, and APC leadership for their institutional backing. Reflecting on his career, the former Speaker noted that he has maintained a strong record in public service, attributing his political resilience to grassroots support and family stability.
In his acceptance remarks, Orji emphasized his institutional loyalty, clarifying that he is a committed party member focused o sustainable party growth rather than political sycophancy
He specifically acknowledged key figures driving the APC’s 2027 victory within the South-East region: He commended the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for his pivotal leadership in strengthening the APC structure in Abia State.
The candidate further expressed appreciation to former Abia State governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and the for Minister of State for Employment, Hon Nkeiruka Onyejiocha for their sustained contributions to the party’s regional repositioning
Orji urged party members to rally behind Et Hon Benjamin Kalu’s leadership to enhance the APC brand in Abia, while advising members to prioritize constructive engagement over divisive internal politics
Positioning himself as the most qualified aspirant for the federal constituency, Orji stated that his campaign would deviate from conventional political rhetoric, focusing instead on empirical performance, hard work, and a clear presentation of his legislative agenda.
In a bid to foster reconciliation within the constituency, Orji offered an olive branch to former political adversaries:
"I accept this party nomination with humility and the collective backing of our stakeholders. If there are those who felt offended by my past political actions, I ask for your forgiveness so we can forge a united front for the progress of the APC."
He reinforced the principle that power ultimately resides with the grassroots, identifying himself as a resilient "son of Ibeku" who remains unintimidated by political opposition.
Furthermore, he explicitly instructed his campaign team to abstain from propaganda, embrace decorum, and focus on issues-based grassroots mobilization.
Expanding his address to broader geopolitical dynamics, the former Speaker urged the South-East geo-political region to take a more pragmatic approach to national politics. He explicitly endorsed the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu, noting the shared regional alignment of the South.
Orji observed that the South-East lacks the unilateral numerical strength required to secure the presidency without forging strategic coalitions with the North and the South-West.
"The Igbo people possess immense intelligence and exceptional capabilities in business management. However, the South-East must become far more strategic and active in mainstream national politics, mirroring the political approaches of the North and the West."
He concluded by affirming that supporting Tinubu’s second-term agenda provides a critical framework for the North and the East to collaborate effectively, ensuring long-term national progress and regional equity.
