Following his victory at the APC House of Assembly primary, Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu has  released a statement formally accepting the nomination, even as he describes his triumph not as a personal win, but as a collective victory for the constituency  "This victory is not mine alone. It is a victory for every son and daughter of Ikwuano who still believes that our dear constituency can rise above division and embrace a future built on unity, vision, courage and development. Indeed, “I Win, We Win! I Rise, We Rise! For Us, By Us!” is not just a slogan, but a covenant of collective progress for our people.

Canvassing unity under the banner of "The One Ikwuano Project," Ishionwu emphasized that the time for internal party friction has passed and extended an olive branch to his primary opponent, Darlington Nnaoma Onyekacha, praising his courage and competitive spirit.

"This is not the time for clannish divides, bitterness, or political hostility," Ishionwu stated. "This is the time to heal, unite, and move forward together with one vision and one goal — a better, stronger, and more progressive Ikwuano."

To foster reconciliation, the newly minted flag bearer announced plans to convene a meeting with all stakeholders, Onyekacha, and party members  to forge a united front ahead of the 2027  General Election.

Ishionwu expressed profound gratitude to God and credited his political breakthrough to key mentors and campaign strategists, acknowledging Hon Emeka Atuma as his political leader, mentor, and boss, whose unwavering support and leadership sacrifices were pivotal to the victory.

He equally saluted Hon Chinedum Orji for providing moral support and "fatherly advice" throughout the high-stakes primary process.

Ishionwu further praised his political family, The Grace Movement for their tireless, round-the-clock sacrifices and his Campaign Council led by Comrade Ndubisi Kalu.

Reiterating his campaign mantra - "I Win, We Win! I Rise, We Rise! For Us, By Us!", Ishionwu promised a tenure anchored on purposeful representation. He pledged that his legislative agenda will focus heavily on empowering the youth; Supporting women across the constituency; Protecting the interests of elders; And overcoming sectional divides to spur economic development.
