Hon Lucky Awuwa

A political group, the Ikwuano Concerned Citizens (ICC) has beckoned on the Deputy Executive Chairman of Ikwuano LGA  Hon Lucky Awuwa to run for Abia State House of Assembly Seat to represent Ikwuano State Constituency.

In a statement, the group argued that Hon Awuwa has remained a consistent and active grassroots politician for over two decades, dedicating his time, energy, and resources to the political growth and unity of Ikwuano.

According to the ICC "Awuwa's  political journey began in 2006/2007 under the Reality Organisation where he served as Ward Publicity Secretary before joining the Progressive Peoples Alliance and contesting for the position of Ward Councillor.

"In 2007/2008, Hon. Awuwa Lucky played an active role in the political movement that produced Senator Theodore Ahamefule Orji as Governor of Abia State and returned Hon. Wisdom Ogbonna to the State House of Assembly for a third tenure — a significant support for the Oboro Clan.

"In recognition of his dedication and service, he was appointed Special Assistant on Education to the Local Government Chairman in 2008.

"Hon. Awuwa Lucky further demonstrated his commitment to political inclusion and clan balance by working tirelessly alongside HRH Eze Stanley Ijenwa (Oro II of Oro Ibere) and Late Nnaoma Ijenwa (Onye Army) toward the emergence of Hon. Emeka Osoagbaka (Gbakas) into the State House of Assembly during the 2011 General Elections.

"Again, during the 2015/2016 elections and rerun process, Hon. Awuwa Lucky stood firmly as one of the outstanding faithful of the All Progressives Grand Alliance from Ibere Clan. With the support of the ND Ebu’s family from Obuohia Ibere, they remained steadfast and committed to ensuring that Ariam-Usaka completed their tenure through the election of Hon. Theophilus Ugbaja — a remarkable demonstration of political loyalty, sacrifice, and support for equity.

"In 2019, Hon. Awuwa Lucky declared interest in contesting for the Ikwuano State Constituency seat. However, due to internal challenges within APGA, he withdrew his ambition and remained resolute in supporting Dr. Alex Chioma Otti without compromise.

"Ahead of the 2022/2023 General Elections, Hon. Awuwa Lucky became the first aspirant from Ikwuano to indicate interest for the State House of Assembly seat under the Labour Party Nigeria. Yet again, in the spirit of unity, fairness, and political understanding, he was prevailed upon to step down in support of the incumbent Hon. Boniface Isienyi from Oloko Clan, ensuring the completion of Oloko’s second tenure.

"These records are clear evidence of a man who has consistently placed the collective interest of Ikwuano above personal ambition.

"Today, on the principles of equity, fairness, justice, and political balance, the time has come for Ibere Clan to be given the opportunity to produce the next representative for Ikwuano State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly come 2027.

"Having carefully observed the leadership style, humility, political maturity, and grassroots connection of Hon. Awuwa Lucky Chibuikem over the years, we, the  Ikwuano Concerned Citizens (ICC), strongly call on him to answer the call to serve and represent Ndi Ikwuano at the Abia State House of Assembly in 2027.

"Without doubt, Hon. Awuwa Lucky Chibuikem remains one of the most qualified, experienced, and broadly accepted candidates capable of securing the support and confidence of Ndi Ikwuano across all clans.

"On equity, fairness, and justice we stand", they declared
