She added that Prophetess Sholoye, a self-proclaimed woman of God also played key roles in the scam by claiming that she could through spiritual means vouch for the authenticity of the key figure in the syndicate, Gidado
Tejuosho said she was introduced to Malam Hassan Nasir in November 28, 2023, by Mr. Abu Miliki, a former Commissioner for Lands in Nasarawa State. On expressing interest in securing an appointment under the newly inaugurated Federal Government. Malam Nasir introduced her to Malam Ibrahim Gidado, also known as Sarkin Yanma who claimed to have strong connections within the Presidency and the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA)
Gidado claimed to be a serving official in the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA); a former officer of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA); And a Director within the Department of State Services (DSS) on transfer to the NSA
He further claimed to be an operative working directly with the Presidential Villa on classified security assignments.
Gidado gave assurances of securing an appointment for her and demanded ₦10,000,000 for "mobilization, consultations, and security screening" He refused bank transfers, citing the "sensitive nature" of his work. Consequently, Tejuosho handed him ₦10,000,000 in cash in front of the ECOWAS building in Abuja, witnessed by Malam Nasir.
On December 13, 2023, Gidado claimed that Tejuosho's screening was successful and that a meeting with the President was required. He demanded an additional ₦50,000,000 to facilitate Villa access and a presidential audience
On December 15, 2023, Tejuosho handed over the equivalent of ₦50,000,000 in US Dollars (cash) to him.
Gidado severally claimed to book an appointment with the President which failed to materialise and in late January, he told Tejuosho that an appointment with the President was no longer necessary and urged her to opt for Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) or a Ministerial position, eventually advising that a humanitarian-related Ministerial appointment was most suitable.
Gidado requested for USD=1,000,000 for the ministerial seat, with USD=800,000 payment upfront Between January 25 and February 3 2024, three payments totalling USD=500,000 was made to him
On February 6, 2024, Gidado asked Tejuosho to source candidates for other "vacant" roles, including the GMD of NNPC Limited and the SSA to the President on Ecological Matters.
Those later introduced to him include Sani Dantanko for the MD position of Niger Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET). Gidado demanded ₦100,000,000, but Dantanko subsequently paid ₦80,000,000 into Tejuosho's account in two tranches (₦50m and ₦30m) for onward transmission.
Yakumut Alhassan who indicated interest in a Ministerial appointment also paid a ₦50,000,000 deposit while Osita Opara interested in the SSA on Ecological Matters paid ₦10,000,000 to Gidado
Another candidate, Cyprian who expressed interest in the NNPC MD role and was willing to pay USD=1,000,000,000 via a bank guarantee, however Gidado rejected this, insisting on cash upfront. The transaction was abandoned.
On August 24, Mrs. Sholoye, who sought the NNPC GMD position came into the picture and Gidado confirmed that the NNPC GMD was available for USD=1,000,000. Mrs. Sholoye agreed to pay in tranches
Sholoye who claimed her "spiritual consultations" gave her a "green signal" for success paid N200,000,000 in August and another ₦385,000,000 in September. Of this, ₦85,000,000 was for "logistics," including mobilizing youths to protest against the sitting NNPC MD to pressure the government for his removal. The remaining ₦300,000,000 was remitted to Gidado through Tejuosho's account.
Tejuosho on her part gave Gidado ₦150,000,000 in September and ₦50,000,000 in October as part-payments toward her anticipated appointment.
In November, after official announcements were made for the Humanitarian Ministry, and it became clear the process had failed, everyone demanded refunds and Gidado immediately went underground and unreachable.
Sholoye subsequently dragged Tejuosho to the EFCC. On December 31, 2024, when she honoured the EFCC invitation and provided a full transaction history and filed a counter-petition against Malam Gidado as the final beneficiary. She remained in EFCC custody till February 2025.
