As Abia State Governor Alex Otti navigates the slippery path to his second term amidst federal opposition forces, foremost constitutional lawyer, Dr Monday Ubani,  SAN has re-assured him that his return to Abia State Government House is non-negotiable as Abia  people are 100% with him

"The people of Ikwuano LG, specifically and Abians generally have spoken with one unmistakable voice of  their unwavering support for Governor Alex Otti's re-election next year.  Long before he assumed office, Ikwuano stood boldly with him in 2023 being guided by conviction, vision, and hope for a better Abia. Today, that faith has been justified by the remarkable strides in governance that have captured attention across Nigeria", Dr Ubani declared.

Ubani who was recently unanimously endorsed the Leader of Governor Otti’s Second-Term Campaign Coordination in Ikwuano LG further dismissed threats from other opposition parties boasting of capturing Ikwuano in order to dethrone Gov. Otti next year.

"We therefore reaffirm, without hesitation, that Gov.  Alex Otti will be re-elected next year for a second term to consolidate the gains of purposeful leadership and complete his God-ordained eight-year tenure. Thereafter, power shall be entrusted to another credible and worthy son of Abia to sustain the legacy of people-oriented development", he affirmed.

He further averred: "Let it be clearly stated: 'Abia State will never return to the dark days of decay, reckless destruction, and the shameful sharing of public wealth meant for development. That era is gone for good.

"With faith in God, who rules in the affairs of men, we declare that this mandate aligns with divine purpose. Abia remains truly God’s Own State, and forward it must go. One with God is a majority!"

Also speaking along similar lines, Labour Party chieftain, and football club proprietor, Engr Obinna Paul Peter affirmed that there  is no vacancy in Abia  Government House in 2027. Gov. Otti will serve his full, God-ordained eight-year tenure to cement the foundations of a New Abia. Only then—and not a day sooner—will the baton pass to another worthy successor to carry the flame. Abians are fully behind him on this second term quest and there is no going back", he said

Another Ikwuano party stalwart and youths leader - the former Chairman of Ikwuano Youths Presidents,  Mr Charles Adiezeh said there is a growing consensus among Abians to unequivocally  support  the realisation of the second term bid of Gov. Otti as they are  convinced by the results of his leadership style and vision for the State, and therefore deserving of the support of well meaning Abians to return for a second term and complete the good work he has already began

"I am a person of conviction. I have long convinced myself that I will put my personality and resources where my mouth is to ensure our people centred Governor Alex Otti is re-elected

"Victory is assured. We will work assiduously to ensure Abia is continually projected positively nationwide", Adiezeh maintained

Equally asserting his support for Gov Otti's 2nd term, another political stalwart, Mr Kachi Umekwe  argued that the  era of "share the money" is dead. The dark days of systemic decay and reckless looting are buried. Abia has tasted light, and we refuse to return to the shadows.

"It appears some people had forgotten how Abians were owed over 12 moths  salaries  and other failures of governance.

"Specifically, for the very first time Ikwuano LG has experience the dividends of good governance from a State governor - Gov Otti - in the area of roads construction, remodeling of our major market,  Ndioru market, modern primary health centers, transparency in handling public funds. Anybody suggesting of aborting Gov Otti's second term aspirations wants Abia to return to Egypt, but Abians have vowed it's forward with Alex Otti to the promisedland", Umekwe proffered.
